庆祝活动开始时,我们的学生介绍了世界戏剧日的重要性,分享了他们自主编演的戏剧作品。来自MYP中学四年级和五年级的学生在英语语言与文学课程(ELL)上学习“什么是戏剧?”的单元后,与观众共同探索了组成戏剧的各个要素。PYP小学四年级的学生则表演了一场名为《舞猴(Dance Monkey)》的舞蹈,将经典的中国故事与现代流行歌曲相融合。而来自MYP中学五年级的中国语言文学班级则利用课堂所学,展示了《金锁记》的戏剧视频和七首诗歌。
The event began with an introduction on the importance of World Theatre Day, followed by students from various classes presenting their drama works. MYP 4 and 5 students from the English Language & Literature class shared their unit called "What"s the Drama?" which explores various elements of drama. PYP 4 students performed a dance creation called "Dance Monkey", blending a classic Chinese tale with a modern hit song. MYP 5 Chinese language and literature class presented a video summarizing their unit on "The Story of the Golden Lock" and seven poems.
TWIS世界戏剧日还引入了CASE课外活动项目的戏剧课程,学生在此分享了戏剧课程是如何提高沟通能力和创新思维能力的。在庆祝活动的最后,我们的学生发布了TWIS有史以来第一部PYP音乐剧的预告片,让观众迫不及待地想看到即将上演的成品。在世界戏剧日这一天,学生以丰富多彩的表演展示了戏剧表演在教育中的力量,令人流连忘返。
The assembly also featured the CASE Drama program, where students shared how it enhances their communication and creative thinking skills. The assembly concluded with the announcement of the first-ever PYP musical play, leaving the audience eager to see the final product. TWIS showcased the power of drama in education, making World Theatre Day a memorable and engaging event.

On March 14th, people around the world celebrated International Pi Day, a day dedicated to the mathematical constant "π". Although "π" is commonly known as "3.14", it is an infinite, non-repeating decimal that has fascinated mathematicians, scientists, artists, and musicians for centuries.

At the TWIS International Pi Day event, our students explained the significance of the day, sharing how Archimedes, one of the greatest mathematicians of the ancient world, was the first to calculate Pi. Since then, countless mathematicians have worked to calculate more and more digits of Pi, with computers now able to calculate trillions of digits.

One of the most intriguing properties of Pi is that every possible number combination exists somewhere within it. This unique quality has inspired our students like Iris, who uses colors to represent different digits and create stunning representations of the number, and Ayden, who has composed music based on the digits of Pi.As the Pi Day event came to a close, it was clear that Pi is a number that has captured the hearts and minds of people from all walks of life, continuing tofascinate and intrigue us for years to come.

Student"s Agency, which gives students voice, choice, and ownership, is an essential aspect of the IB PYP beliefs and values. This week, students had the opportunity to showcase their learning to their parents through SLC (Student-Led Conferences), an event that allows students to lead the discussion on their progress, achievements, and areas for growth.Through SLCs, students learn to articulate their learning journey, build self-confidence, and take pride in their accomplishments. The experience was enlightening and enjoyable for both students and parents, as it created a platform for meaningful dialogue and feedback.
